The making of Chanel’s FW15 collection…..swoon!

With the estate agents coming tomorrow to put our little house on the market I have no sewing of my own to share.

I think this is a wondrous substitute.

The sewing is exquisite but some (most) of the garments are not flattering and the models look sulky and uncomfortable. I’m trying to think of a way of incorporating some of the ideas into my sewing but I can’t see how I could include much beadwork in Isabelle’s little needlecord pinafore dresses or her stretchy leggings! I do love sewing the little dresses though, and wait till you see the crazy patterned tights I’ve got her!

To be fair if I had to have my hair like that I’d be sulky too! 😉

The beadwork is so exquisite…and scaled down for real life would be lovely. I just wish I had 1/100th of the skill. I’d be a happy hamster indeed.

Isabelle is a lucky girl. I’m intrigued about the tights. Can’t wait!

  2. The standard of work is incredible. Some of the dresses are a bit of an odd shape though. I loved seeing them working the fabric close up. It’s given loafs of ideas. Good luck with the house. Xx

Those seamstresses are ridiculously skilled. I’m completely besotted with their skills. I would happily spend all day sweeping the floors if they’d just let me watch and learn a bit!

  3. Swoon indeed but I too found myself thinking “look at their miserable faces”! Then I started to laugh as I thought “crikey, they’d need a heck of a lot of beads to cover something that fit me” 🙂 I love hand sewing so much, maybe one day I’ll make something really OTT and decorated like this 😉

It’s the hair. It’s enough to make you weep!

Hahahaha….I’d need a truck load of beads. But would it be beautiful to make something fancy with just a nod to them. I do love hand sewing too.
