Arne & Carlos Moon Night Socks

Hello lovelies. Thanks for your patience whilst we (and when I say ‘we’ I obviously mean ‘Dave’) transferred the hosting of this site this week.

I was listening to the Love to Sew podcast this week (I’m seriously behind so am box-setting it) with the interview of Kate from The Foldline. One of the questions was along the lines of ‘what would you do differently’ and the answer was ‘marry a developer’ (I paraphrase, of course). After this weeks shenanigans I can heartily recommend a husband with mad tech skills. Without him I’m not sure this blog would exist, and I know for sure that my other site would be dead in the water.

Obviously such sterling work deserves a reward, so I finished the first of 3 pairs of Arne and Carlos for Regia socks for him.

He’s really pleased with these. We both love Regia yarns. Me because they knit up nicely, have a great range of colours, and the stripes match! Dave because he loves a good stripy sock and they’re comfy. They wash and wear well too!

This colour is lovely. The blues ares clear like a spring sky and the pops of peach and green remind me of early flowers, making them the perfect seasonal sock. The white could even be fluffy clouds!

Phew! That’s a bit poetic. Needless to say these are a big hit and I’m mostly forgiven for the migration being a bit of a bear.

But only because I’ve already cast on the second pair, and his Longfellow cardigan is on the home stretch! 😉

Hooray for talented husbands for they shall be blessed with the fruits of our knitting needles (or sewing machines).

  2. Fabulous socks, they do look difficult though!

Thank you…but they’re not at all difficult. Just knit and purl and decreases. The yarn does all the magic!
