Fan-shaped bobbles – made by Ma!

The weather continues in its unpredictable vein, with 4 seasons in one day being the norm. The school holidays are flying by and the house selling/purchasing saga continues.

So when we were gifted a warmish and sunny day last week, we hit the park for fun and photos.

This is another great workhorse of a sweater from Ma.  The pattern is an old Wendy/Peter Pan pattern number 747.  The yarn is a mystery acrylic blend, which is perfect for mudlarks as it can be thrown in the washing machine and tumble dried if necessary.

Slightly oversized but not sloppy this is a great shape for layering for warmth, with plenty of room for climbing and playing.

Cute fan shaped bobbles make the boxy shape more feminine.

You can never tell with Miss Button if something you make for her will be worn to rags, or languish at the back of the wardrobe hardly worn.  This is one of the former. It’s her current go to sweater for playing out and park days and just generally keeping cosy.

She looks adorable and a natural in front of the camera.

Thank you. School photographers love both my kids…they are in and out for school pictures in 2 minutes flat! Apparently this isn’t normal. But they love being in and taking photographs.

She is so cute! Love the jumper and love the photos!

My MIL knit hubby a sweater as a child in black with bobbles all over. He announced he wouldn’t be seen in THAT. It was so hard to knit she wouldn’t even take it apart and gave it away. My grandma knit me a jumper with the Blue Peter ship on and I wouldn’t take off. Miss looks lovely in hers. The colour really suits. Ma got that one so right K xXx

Thank you. Oh your poor MIL. I can’t think of anything that involves more work than black bobbles! Button is very fickle. She only wore the Liberty print blouse I made her a couple of times before she grew out of it! Minx!

Button looks lovely in that blue. It’s always a bonus when something you have put so much effort into is received so well – I know that in those circumstances I don’t even mind the eventual destruction!

Thank you. I’d agree…I’d rather she wore something to absolute shreds than leave it pristine in the back of the wardrobe!
