I have project fatigue.

On the right of this picture are the 29 completed Hello Kitty embroideries for Button’s quilt.

On the left, the 13 still to do.

I cannot find the words to explain how bored of hot pink Kitties I am.

And how grateful I am that Ma will be doing the rest of this quilt.

And how excited Button is at the prospect of a quilt full of hot pink Kitties…which, in truth, makes it all worth while.

You may have had enough of them, but they are pretty. It’s going to be a lovely quilt.

Oh my goodness you have the patience of… Someone really, really patient. ;D How unbelievably great that you have your Ma to pass it off to, rather than having to white-knuckle your way through the end, or throwing it into a UFO pile. It’s going to look so awesome though Evie!

    • No patience…just the temperament of a dog with a bone! I am so pleased that this is a joint project otherwise I might just stab someone with an embroidery needle threaded with hot pink thread… 😉

But it’s going to be so cuuuuuute!

Oh my goodness that is a lot of kitties!!

  5. Hopefully she’ll be like my sister-in-law who is still a huge Hello Kitty fan and turning 30 this year!

    • I hope so…that would be really cool. I’d love her to take it to college and uni with her…although I suspect she’ll be over having her mum make her things by then. I’m making the most of it whilst it lasts.

You are a true superstar (and awesome mother!) for hand stitching all those kitties. I think I would have had project fatigue after about two, but then again I don;t have a daughter as cute as Button 🙂

    • I wouldn’t go that far (the superstar bit), but I do love making for the family and she’s going to look so cute tucked under this next winter. 🙂 Purely selfish motives, see.

  7. I didn’t realize you were embroidering the quilt! I would have stopped at the drawing part! Not to mention cutting those squares Let me tell you they look very cute and well embroidered…just take a break :o)

    • Oh no…I’m crazy enough to embroider 42 kitties! Thankfully Ma cut out the squares and did the tracing. She loves doing that kind of stuff. Phew! But the end is in sight…so I’m going to crack on and get them done and over to Ma for the patchworky bit! But a glass or two of wine might be involved in the process 😉

I get the fatigue, but… HELLO KITTY! OMG SO CUTE! You must, must, must find a way!

  9. Rachel says:

Wow that is going to be a work of love when it’s done!

  10. Tone says:

are you doing the embroidery by hand or machine? Button will be one happy girl getting this quilt, made by love, that’s what it is

  11. A true labour of love 🙂
