Mon jardin

I use the term “jardin” very, very loosely.

Perhaps “tip” would be more appropriate.  Or “weed-fest”.  Or “eyesore”.  Or all of the above.018It’s hard to believe, but this is actually an improvement.  I cut a foot off the width of the hedge and a foot off the height on Saturday.

I don’t know which is worse.  The shed that is falling down; the garage window that is falling out; or the patio flags that I fall over on a daily basis!

But I have a plan (you knew I would).

Firstly we’re going to take down the shed and replace it (eventually) with a playhouse for Little Stitch.  We don’t use the shed at all.  Mr Stitch has been clearing it this weekend and we found several items of garden hardware that we didn’t know we owned and frankly, they are so manky we won’t be using them ever, EVER, again.  We won’t talk about the spiders.  Or the weird black goo.  Ewwwww!

Next we’ll take out the raised bed that runs along the side of the garage.  And burn out the tree stump.

The patio needs lifting and relaying.  This time it will be cemented into place properly.

New gates.

Replace the gravel with lawn.

Paint the rusty table ( and the 4 rusty chairs currently lurking in the garage).

Replace the dodgy window and repaint the door.

Repaint the fences.

That should take us up to the winter.  I’ll plant the back raised bed next spring.  I’m thinking mainly white so I can have a perfect backdrop to a blaze of scarlet geraniums in pots on the patio next summer. And scarlet strawberries in baskets all along the garage.

It can only get better.  Can’t it?!?!?!?!?!?!

  1. When there is a “plan” everything always gets better 🙂
