It’s Kids Clothes Week this week and I’m more than a little sad that I’m not participating in this one.

It’s not that I don’t have plans for clothes for Button and Boy. Far from it.

I’m desperate to make Elegance & Elephant’s delicious (and free) Pleated Playsuit:

I’d also love Oliver + S’s equally lovely (and equally free) Popover Sundress:

Popover1And, of course, Boy needs shorts. Β He can never have too many pairs of shorts!

But, alas, this is the last week of term and I have things that must be done before Friday, and presentations and ceremonies and all sorts of little bits of daily life that are getting in the way of sewing.

So…no KCW for me. But what about you?

What are you sewing at the moment?

My sewing is purely selfish as I have yet to find patterns for Boy that I like (I and he is a bit fussy!). The items in the line up for Button are gorgeous, whenever you get a chance to make them!

    • My sewing is pretty non-existent at the moment and it’s going to get worse over the next six weeks! Hopefully we’ll have a lovely summer and the break will get me all fired up for the autumn and new season sewing!

Not sewing – I’m PLANNING. I’m trying to make it seem like sewing. I’m just starting to realize that the only thing I get from fixing problems and finishing hard things as quickly as possible is the responsibility to do it all over again – that much faster. I’m trying to reframe crafting a bit. But the planning I’m doing (pattern drafting, reading, amassing materials) is for the next bra I’m going to make. Can’t say it’s likely to work. So why rush πŸ™‚

    • Planning is good. Especially as you’re supposed to be taking it a little bit easy!
I have much more faith in your abilities with the bra than you do…you are very skilled indeed.

  3. Can’t imagine that your next few weeks will have much time for sewing once the kids are on summer holiday!
I am holidaying by the sea – and resting a knee injury instead of scuba diving – so I am knitting (and reading)! Thoroughly enjoying it and back to sewing next week.
By the way, I love the patterns for children that you showed!

  4. I have been meaning to make up dresses for my girls for ages. Perhaps now’s the time, though it is a little late and I need fabric. Lolol.
