If you knit you surely must have come across Kate Davies’ OWLS sweater by now.

Well it appears that the designers for Red Herring at Debenhams have also seen it.

If you agree with Kate’s argument, please email Debenhams:

and let them know that we support our independent designers, even if they don’t.

Wow… I’ve had this one in my queue for a while now, I love this little sweater. It’s definitely a gray area, copyright-wise, but I did go and finally buy a copy of the pattern. To show support. And cause I’m SURE I’ll get around to knitting it one of these days… Thanks for pointing it out, I didn’t know the story behind the sweater.. 🙂

  2. Like Steph I bought a copy of the pattern. I used to really like Debenhams, now I am having second thoughts 🙁

You ladies rock! 🙂 I bought owlet for the babies in my life. Expect to see matching his and hers for the winter. Twee…possibly. Cute… definitely!

I didn’t know that story! Thank you for sharing this with me. Off to buy the pattern. I love it, though it’s not my thing, but I think it’s time to support some good design.
